About Us

Mission:

The mission of the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick is to increase literacy in partnership with others.


Goals:

The LCNB's goals are to:

  • Maintain and /or extend network of NB Literacy groups and stakeholders.
  • Increase public understanding of the literacy issue and its impact on every facet of society.
  • To facilitate and mobilize activities which will result in opportunities for higher levels of literacy among the people of New Brunswick.

Background:

The Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick Inc. was formed in 1988 when stakeholders decided there was a need for a multi-sectoral literacy organization. Since then the LCNB has carried out projects in the areas of literacy research, improving access and outreach, improving co-ordination and information sharing, improving public awareness and developing learning materials.
